Young Person Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a well-established charity based in Milton Keynes for a Support Worker to help vulnerable young people in their supported accommodation.
Type: Temporary with the possibility of extension
Length: 3 months
Location: Milton Keynes
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shifts: Monday to Sunday working shifts; 7:30am – 3:30pm and 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Rate of Pay: £11.00 per hour inclusive of holiday pay
Daily duties:
- Deliver emotional and life skills based support to young people aged 16 – 21 in supported accommodation
- Offer life based support and assist with daily living such as budgeting and preparing to move on into independent accommodation
- Actively involve service users in developing their support plans to reach their individual goals and aspirations
- Offer advice and assistance to tenants regarding their benefit entitlements, sourcing employment and education opportunities
- Provide support and advice to tenants in relation to issues concerning their tenancies
- Enforce tenancy conditions in line with procedures including low level Anti-Social Behaviour
- Signposting to other support agencies as appropriate including counselling services, drug and alcohol services and housing services
Essential requirements:
- An Enhanced DBS with the adults and children’s list checked from within the last three years or the willingness to obtain one
- A full valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle is preferred but not essential
- Previous experience working with young people ideally in a support settings
