Tenancy Sustainment Officer – Immediately Required
Duration: 6 weeks with potential of extension
Location: Work from home and office in Long Eaton
Hours: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £12.10 PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
An opening has arisen for an Tenancy Sustainment Officer in Derbyshire. Said individual will be responsible for providing general needs housing management functions that are more intensively provided as a consequence of the additional needs of tenants
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that tenants are aware of their rights in accordance with their tenancy agreement
- Agreeing a Personal Housing Plan, maintain regular contact with tenants to achieve objectives within the housing plan and utilise contact via letter, visits, text and telephone
- Provide additional and Tenancy Sustainment functions and tasks that would not be provided in general needs accommodation where no additional needs exist
- Ensure rent is paid regularly and on time – including assistance to maximise income, claim welfare benefits, and manage finances
- Offer advice and guidance on keeping property to a reasonable standard of hygiene
- Deal with nuisance issues
- Ensure that tenants know and understand how to use equipment safely and assisting tenants with identifying the need for adaptations
- Help to keep properties safe and secure, identifying and potential safeguarding issues, and making the relevant referrals
- Develop and maintain relationships through regular meetings with customers
- Manage a caseload of customers to reflect the level and intensity of service provided
- Ensure customers understand their rights and duties under their tenancy
- Undertake early proactive interventions where a customer’s tenancy might be at risk for any reason including for example rent arrears, other housing related debts, ASB, cuckooing, or hoarding
