Clerk of Works
Location: Somerset
Length: 3-6 months, temporary ongoing
Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Mon – Fri
Essential requirements:
- You must have experience of working in a similar role within the commercial buildings
- Must be hold engineering/building technical qualifications
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Responsible for quality control, quality checks and health and safety inspection service ensuring best value in relation to all projects
- Responsible for monitoring, examining and keeping accurate records of works carried out by contractors on both capital and minor schemes, ensuring that all contractors commissioned meet the specified standards required
- Responsible for completing all relevant documents relating to the standards of work and the resources used by a contractor at all stages of a project and bringing to the attention of the appropriate senior managers, issues of importance or potential concern
- Take responsibility for all aspects of health and safety such as evaluation of Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS), policies and procedures prior to the commencement and during the delivery of a project
- Monitor the quality of work undertaken in relation to the Quality Standards set for a project with an appropriate level of understanding of work procedures and practices underpinned with knowledge and understanding of the construction industry
- Provide a supervisory role and advice to colleagues, contractors, external stakeholders and any other staff where required
