Job Description: We are recruiting for an Assistant Head of Legal & Governance Locum to join a public sector organisation based in the North West of England for a period of 3-6 months with the possibility of extension. It is desirable that candidates occasionally attend the office in Lancashire however the role will be largely carried out on a fully remote basis.
The successful candidate will be:
- Join the Governance team to support the Head of Governance and Corporate Director of Governance and Community Strategy
- Qualified Lawyer with extensive working knowledge of legislation relevant to the public sector
- Lead on the development of the directorate and the delivery of the services for which the post holder is responsible in order to support the corporate vision values and priorities of the Council
- Ensure that appropriate, efficient and effective legal, information governance and democratic services are provided in order to progress the Council’s strategies and objectives
- Drive innovation and qualitative measures across the directorate to provide economic, efficient and effective services
- Be able to undertake all other duties as required by the Head of Governance and/or Corporate Director of Governance and Community Strategy
It is essential that candidates applying for this role are qualified solicitors who have extensive Local Government experience.
Hourly rate: £500 per day
