Electrician
Location:                    Cambridge
Hours:                         37.5 hours a week, Mon – Fri
Length of contract:    6 months, temporary ongoing with potential for permanent

Main responsibilities of the role:

• Responsible for calibration, fault finding and repair on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment for example; Standby generators, 3 phase and single phase electrical circuits, Heating systems, Ventilation systems and all other associated plant and equipment
• Understand, diagnose and repair faults in electrical or mechanical engineering plant and equipment
• Liaise with Engineering managerial staff regarding plant or equipment failures
• Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities at the request of the Senior Engineer
• Responsible for installs, maintenance, services and repairs full range of Estates services equipment
• Provide technical advice to other Estates Maintenance staff and contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures
• Undertake condition surveys and evaluate inspection reports
• Responsible for administration duties such as updating worksheets and job tickets

Essential requirements:

• You will hold relevant Electrical qualification such as BTEC HNC/HND/Approved Apprenticeship, City and Guilds or NVQ III Technicians Certificate or equivalent
• You will ideally have a full understanding of UPS, IPS and generator standby power systems
