Housing Officer Immediately Required
Duration: 2 – 3 Months
Location: East Midlands
Hours: Monday – Friday 09:00am – 17:00pm
Rate: £18 via Umbrella
An opening has arisen for an immediately available Housing Officer for Housing Association in the East Midlands. This position will require candidates who have extensive knowledge and experience of Housing related matters i.e. ASB, Tenancy, Safeguarding and Rents. Said candidate must be able to perform under pressure with a large housing patch across the East Midlands.
The patch will be covering the below arears:
Derby
Nottingham
Chesterfield
Stoke
Rotherham
The successful candidate have experience in a similar position and be responsible for:
- Ensure the estate is kept clean and tidy and well maintained in order to provide a safe and acceptable environment for the residents
- Manage the relations with residents in such a manner that they feel their needs are being promptly addressed and they comply with their tenancy agreements
- Proactive in order to maximise rent collection and effectively manage any arrears to stay within the target percentage
- Source new residents in accordance with the association’s Allocations policy, processing them in a timely manner so as to achieve void turnaround target
- Proactively manage turnaround procedures to assist in achieving the target days for voids turnaround
- Manage and supervise operational staff within the designated patch, providing advice and guidance to support Scheme Managers, Housing Support Workers and Housing Assistants
- Liaise and maintain good working relations with external contacts, in order to facilitate referrals, support, payments and create a professional image of the organisation
- Maintain an efficient administration system which meets the needs set by the organisation for records and reports
- Deal with any other tasks commensurate with the needs of the patch as deemed necessary by the Housing Services Manager
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of individuals and families that come to our attention
- Investigate and deal with reports of abandoned properties, subletting and trespassing of properties
The successful candidate will have:
- Recent experience within a demanding role
- An enhanced DBS
- Driving Licence and ability to use their own vehicle
