Work from home- Housing Options Caseworker Vacancy

A reputable Council is currently recruiting for a Housing Options Caseworker’s in the Hertfordshire area (this role will be solely working from home). This is a temporary role for 3 months ongoing and you’ll be required to work 37.5 hours per week.
The role involves:
- Providing advice and assistance on homelessness and prevention
- Carrying out section 184 assessments and issuing letters of the decision
- Helping clients to explore the housing options available to them
- Attending court and provide support to the client through an advocacy role
- Helping clients maximise income through by advising on welfare and benefit entitlement
- Fulfilling the Councils statutory obligations to provide advice and homeless prevention services under the Homeless Reduction Act 2017
- Acting as a caseworker to customers who approach the Council with a housing need and directing them to a solution
- Ensuring accommodation is made available where the Council owes this duty
- Working closely with all internal teams and provide support as required, enabling an effective Housing Options Service
Essential requirements:
- Experience of performing Section 184 Decisions
- Have expert knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act
- Expert IT skills
- Candidates should have their own laptop with Wi-Fi access and also a mobile phone which they are happy to use for work purposes (any costs can be reimbursed)
