Interim Housing Options Officer required immediately (fully remote role)
Venn Group’s Social Housing Recruitment Team are currently recruiting for an interim Housing Options Officer for a highly reputable local authority to begin temporary employment within their team on a remote basis.
Location: Fully remote (south-west based organisation)
Contract duration: 12 weeks + (strong possibility of extension)
Hours: 37.5 hours

Hourly Rate: £30 Umbrella
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Assist clients who present as potentially homeless and work with them to find alternative housing solutions
- Manage a caseload of clients and enable them to move onto alternative accommodation
- Conduct one to one interviews with potential clients face to face and over the phone
- Assess client’s suitability and prioritise cases
- Carry out detailed investigations into homeless applications and eligibility for accommodation
- Develop intervention and sustainment support to help prevent homelessness
- Make Section 184 decisions and issue letters accordingly
- Ensure all notes are recorded on the system using Locata
- Keep up to date on homeless and other relevant legislations
- Liaise with external agencies including social services and signpost tenants for additional support
- Maintain relationships with private landlords, agents and partner social landlords
Essential criteria include:
- An enhanced DBS
- Knowledge of the HRA and experience in Housing Options
- Good IT skills
Desirable criteria include:
- Knowledge of using Locata
