Interim Senior Commissioning Manager

Length: 6 months initially
A local authority in London is recruiting an interim Senior Commissioning Manager to lead the Adults Brokerage team through a period of change and support their transition into the Strategic Market Management and Service Acquisition Team.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Commissioning Manager:
- Support the Adults Brokerage team as they restructure and transition into the commissioning department
- Provide strong quality assurance, market management, data management and market information
- lead the micro-commissioning within the social care marketplace
- Manage the I.T systems within the council
- Lead a team to build strong relationships within the market and collate information on providers, level of needs, costs, and vacancies
- Effectively manage a cultural change throughout the team into an operational standpoint (4 direct report, 13 staff in total)
Skills and experience required from the Senior Commissioning Manager:
- Understanding of Adult Social Services market and ability to engage and negotiate with providers
- Previous experience of effectively managing a team
- Brokerage Manager / Head of Service expertise
- Knowledge of and experience managing complex/out of Borough placements (Homecare, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities)
