Interim Senior Communications Officer - Campaigns

Length: 3 months initially

Working arrangements: full time, flexible working
One of our local authority clients is looking to recruit an interim Senior Communications Officer to join their reputable communications team and support on the planning of some exciting campaigns, including but not limited to, tackling inequalities and climate emergency.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Planning campaigns across a number of topic areas and developing, creating and implementing communications plans
- Devising and delivering a wide variety of stakeholder communications and engagement activities in support of the council’s services and priorities
- Writing social media posts and articles for the local council newspaper
- Going out and talking to residents to get their views, creating case studies and filming content
- Writing the social media and digital strategy to showcase the work being done
- Supporting on the Council’s 5-10 year major behavioural change piece
Required skills and experience:
- Strong evidence of planning and delivering campaigns
- Demonstrable social media knowledge and experience
- Creative and innovative with the ability to work at pace
- Previous and recent public sector experience, ideally local government
- Any format of e-newsletter, and content creation skills are welcome but not essential
