Locum Contracts & Procurement Lawyer - South West – Hybrid Working - £65 via umbrella
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join a central government body based in the South West on an interim basis.
This is a full time position, offered for an initial term of 6 months and is subject to likely extension thereafter. It will involve handling a varied caseload of both contentious and non-contentious matters. Hybrid working is encouraged, however the client will consider remote working arrangements for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will be a qualified Lawyer (Solciitor/Barrister/Legal Executive) with demonstrable public sector experience.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
- Specialising in procurement, contracts and development projects
- Drafting framework agreements and contracts
- Advising on contractual interpretation, data protection and Freedom of Information requests
- Providing expert legal advice to a variety of clients in-house across all directorates
- Preparing grants and funding agreements, Collaboration Agreements and Memorandum of Understandings
- Advising on contractual litigation, contractual disputes and construction disputes
- Managing a range of valued claims including Small Claims and Multi-Track high value disputes
- Advising on legal matters affecting a public body more generally
An attractive hourly umbrella rate of up to £65 is offered for this post.
