Locum Legal Assistant – South West Local Authority – 3 months + - £17.64 Umbrella
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant (Childcare) to join a South West Local Authority on an interim basis.
This is a full-time position, offered for an initial term of 6 months, and is to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will need to be able to attend the office in person once per week, with the rest of the time working remote.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
- Conducting Administrative work within the Local Authority's Childcare and Families team
- Keeping up to date with changes in legislation
- Preparing bundles (both paper and digital) for Court and parties
- Ensuring Diaries are updated and kept in an efficient manner
- Assessing and allocating legal matters within the team
- Establishing and maintaining good working relationships, both with clients and other members of staff
- Any other duties appropriate to the grade as may be assigned by one of the Legal Service Managers
The successful candidate will have achieved a good standard of general education, with GCSE grades A to C (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Previous experience within a Local Authority or Private Practice is desirable for this position, whereas good interpersonal skills are essential as are ICT skills with usual Microsoft Office packages and the ability to be administratively self-sufficient.
An hourly umbrella rate of £17.64 is offered for this position.
