Management Accountant

We are seeking an excellent Management Accountant to support financial and strategic decision-making for a charity that specialises in helping young people make positive changes. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, variance analysis, record-keeping, and providing strategic support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly management accounts
- Conduct detailed variance analysis to compare financial performance against budgeted figures
- Recommend corrective and strategic actions for significant discrepancies, accompanied by clear explanations
- Develop and maintain annual budgets and period forecasts for various teams across the organisation
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting required for effective decision making
- Work closely with other departments as a Management Accountant to obtain financial data and ensure its accuracy
Experience and knowledge:
- Part-Qualified Accountant – actively studying (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar Management Accountant role
- Ability to prioritise and effectively problem solve
- Good understanding of finance systems and advanced experience using Microsoft tools, specifically Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with great active listening and a supportive attitude
- Work well under pressure and maintain excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable to make sound judgement and have strong decision-making skills
