Principal Commercial Lawyer
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: up to £55,000 per annum
On-site: Hybrid working, 2 days per week on-site
A West Midlands Council is seeking a talented Commercial Lawyer to join their Legal team as Principal Commercial Lawyer. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial contracts and procurement matters, supporting the council in its day-to-day operations and strategic objectives.
As the Principal Commercial Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support on a variety of commercial contracts and procurement matters. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including senior management, procurement teams, and various business units, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and optimising commercial outcomes.
In order to be successful, you will be:
- A qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 5 years' PQE
- Extensively experienced in providing legal advice relating to commercial law and procurement
- Knowledgeable in UK commercial law, including contract law, public procurement regulations
- Experienced in handling commercial negotiations and drafting and reviewing commercial contracts
