Public Health Programme Lead – Children and Families (COVID-19 Response)

One of our local authority clients is looking to recruit a Public Health Programme Lead to improve the health and wellbeing of people and reduce health inequalities through strategic public health leadership to drive transformational change focusing on the pandemic response for children and families.
The key components:
- · Ensuring schools are supported in their management of cases and outbreaks
- · Leading public health input into support for clinically extremely vulnerable children
- · Oversight of infection control training for services working with children
- · Developing the school health service role in the Covid-19 pandemic
- · Providing leadership in the reduction of inequalities relating to children and families
- · Engaging in and facilitating the roll-out of Covid-19 vaccines in children’s settings
- · Developing a Covid-19 recovery strategy for children and families
Experience required:
- Masters level qualification in Public Health or related subject or equivalent professional qualification
- Substantial experience (minimum of 5 years) of public health practice including 3 years at senior level
- Extensive experience of conducting literature reviews, critical appraisals and communicating findings to a wide range of stakeholders
- Good understanding of the nature and sources of routine and ad hoc health, social care and wider public health data sets
- Strategic thinker with proven leadership skills including strategic planning, policy development and implementing change across different organisational settings
