Public Health Requirements
We are currently supporting a number of local authorities with their response to Covid-19 and are recruiting to the following opportunities:
Health Improvement Officer
3 months initially, inside IR35, London
Brief: As a key part of the Public Health Team, you will lead and manage specific projects focused on COVID-19 with a specific role for community engagement. You will need to develop strong working relationships and joined-up approaches across the Council, with a particular emphasis on links to the Communications Team, Children, Schools and Families, and external partners including the Voluntary and Community Sector and South West London Clinical Commissioning Group.
You will develop and maintain key partnerships across the council and with external partners to understand the lived experience of COVID-19, work with partners to mitigate the health impact on communities’ e.g. stopping smoking, work with partners to increase the reach of key messages and contribute to the COVID-19 response. You will be expected to work autonomously on a number of strategically important programmes and will have a depth and breadth of knowledge across Public Health.
Public Health Strategist
3 months initially (potentially 12), inside IR35, London
Brief: To work closely with the Public Health Consultant on a varied portfolio, which includes but is not limited to, Children’s, Health Protection, and Domestic Violence.
You will also play a key part on the commissioning of their 0-25 service and be responsible for smaller contracts such as Oral Health and Domestic Violence as well as working on the Covid response.
Your work may require designing and implementing systems and processes; diagnosing and providing solutions to performance problems; developing programmes related to improving key cross-cutting Public Health outcomes; supporting services to change the way they do things; managing the development of cross cutting strategies; and aligning services to make the best use of resources. You must have Public Health and commissioning experience gained from a local government and CCG background to be considered for this role.
