Strategy Manager – Public Health
Hybrid Working, 6 month + interim contract
An opportunity has arisen for a Strategy Manager to join a West Midlands Council on an interim basis to lead the development of their Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
The successful applicant will work closely alongside the Director for Public Health, interact with a range of senior stakeholders and play a key role in determining local Public Health Strategy.
The position offers a competitive rate, hybrid working and a high level of visibility within the Council. The daily rate is expected to be up to £425 on an umbrella company basis.
Duties
- Lead the development of the updated Health and Wellbeing Strategy, 2023-2026
- Work with Insight team to ensure that updated Health and Well Being Strategy reflects needs
- Facilitate the Board and wider partners in developing priorities
- Draft the Health & Well Being Strategy
- Lead the public and stakeholder consultation and on the identified priorities
- Lead the governance arrangements for approval of the Strategy
- Build relationships with the NHS, police, fire, universities and local residents

Requirements
- Experience working in a strategic role in Public Health / Health and Well Being
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders
- Local government experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of the Kings Fund model of Population Health desired
